Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea face each other at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in one of the big London derbies of the Premier League. Spurs’ manager Jose Mourinho faces one of his former clubs. That’s our English Premier League predictions for this fixture in the English capital.
Silencing his critics, Jose Mourinho’s career at Tottenham started more than good. In five games so far played in the Premier League, Spurs won four of them. Because of this strong form right now Tottenham are 5th in the league with 26 points, just 3 points behind the 4th Chelsea. Spurs’ goal difference is better than Chelsea’s, so a win on Sunday would allow the hosts to return in the Top 4.
Mourinho’s Tottenham showed its quality last week when they had to play at one of the most difficult grounds in the league – the Molineux. Spurs had to face Wolverhampton Wanderers, but they managed to scrap a win in the last minutes of the match. The Belgian international Jan Verthongen scored a winner in the 91th minute. Before this Lucas Moura also scored for Spurs.
Tottenham’s captain Hugo Lloris is still unavaliable for selection, while Tanguy Ndombele, and Eric Lamela are also troubled by injuries.
Chelsea are in a crisis situation – we are pretty convinced we can say that now. We can’t say for sure what’s happening with Frank Lampard’s team, but Chelsea suffered four losses in their last five matches. Despite of this the Blues are still in the Top 4 of the league, but they might lose it if they don’t find a way to improve.
Chelsea are approaching this game after suffering a really dissapointing 0-1 loss at home against Bournemouth. At this moment the Blues are desperate for a win, but against Tottenham it will be very complicated task.
That’s our English Premier League predictions for the London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. Spurs are in a much better condition now, but Chelsea won’t give up easily.
