Atletico Madrid – Villarreal
Atletico Madrid lost points for a first time this season, but on Saturday they could make another step in the right direction. Los Colchoneros will host Villarreal at the Wanda Metropolitano with just one thought in mind – winning. Let’s take a look in our soccer predictions for this week.
On Wednesday Atletico Madrid lost two points during the visit to the newcomers Huesca. Diego Simeone’s team tried its best, but the game ended without any goals being scored – 0-0. After scoring six goals in their first match, Atletico were really dissapointed with this result.
The new signing Luis Suarez started for Atletico against Huesca while Diego Costa sat on the bench. Costa replaced Suarez in the 61th minute, but the hosts defended well and survived. The inclusion of Angel Correa, Yannick Carrasco and Koke on the pitch didn’t change anything as well.
The Uruguayan defender Jose Gimenez remains sidelined for Atletico Madrid. He’s still injured. Despite this Diego Simeone can use most of his players and it’s a good thing for him.
Villarreal reacted well to their 0-4 defeat against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. On Wednesday the Yellow Submarine hosted Deportivo Alaves and enjoyed a 3-1 win at home. Paco Alcacer scored a brace for Unai Emery’s team while Gerard Moreno also scored from a penalty kick. Emery decided to return Vicente Iborra in the line-up and it seems as the right decision at the moment. Meanwhile Chukwueze and Kubo started from the bench and they entered the pitch in the second half.
These are our soccer predictions for this week for the La Liga fixture between Atletico Madrid and Villarreal on Saturday. Atletico will try to react after a negative result in Huesca, but Villarreal brought back their confidence during the week. Let’s see if they can create problems to Diego Simeone’s team, though.
