Barcelona host Mallorca

Looking to keep the first place in La Liga, Barcelona host Mallorca at the legendary Camp Nou in a game from the 16th round of the league on Saturday. That’s our La Liga predictions for this fixture in the beautiful Catalan capital.

For Barcelona it’s very simple – they are on par with the second Real Madrid, so every mistake they make could make them lose the first place in the league. In other words, the win here is a must for Ernesto Valverde’s boys.

Last week Barca achieved their third consecutive win in the league. Los Cules had a very rough visit to Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano, but once again Leo Messi’s magic saved them. The Argentine genius scored the winning goal in the game just four minutes before the end. Messi made a combination with Luis Suarez and with his magical left foot beat Jan Oblak for the winner.

Against Mallorca Barca will be without the injured French winger Ousmane Dembele, while Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba are also sidelined with injuries.

Mallorca are pretty close to the relegation zone in La Liga, being 17th with 14 points. Mallorca won just one of their last five games in the league – against Villarreal, also losing three of them.

In the last round Mallorca hosted Real Betis at the Iberostar, but suffered a 1-2 defeat. Junior Lago scored for the hosts from a penalty kick, but Joaquin and Fekir’s goals for Betis secured the win for the visitors.

Against Barcelona Mallorca will enter the pitch without the suspended Lumor Agbenyenu and the injured Abdul Baba, Yannis Salibur and Aridai Cabrera.

It’s our La Liga predictions for the game between Barcelona and Mallorca at the Camp Nou on Saturday. Los Cules are looking for the three points here, while Mallorca are complete underdogs. Do they have a chance in this game? Maybe yes, but it’s a really slim one.
