Barcelona welcome Slavia Praha
Looking to strenghten their position at the top of the group, Barcelona welcome Slavia Praha in a match from Group F of the Champions League on Tuesday. Are Los Cules going to have problems against the Czech side? We are going to discuss this during our Champions League predictions today.
At this moment Barcelona are leading the group with 7 points, being 3 points ahead of Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund. The Catalans are not showing the best football possible, but for now they are in a favourable position to win this group.
Despite of being at the top of La Liga and their Champions League group, times are not easy for Barca’s manager Ernesto Valverde. During the weekend Los Cules suffered a 1-3 loss during their visit to Levante, which once again showed some really big flaws in their squad at the moment. More and more people think that Ernesto Valverde should not finish the season, but for now the club’s board is sticking with him.
Luis Suarez is missing the game against Slavia because of injury, but the pacey French winger Ousmane Dembele should return after being left out of the team against Levante. Most likely he will start alongside Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann in attack on Tuesday. The young star Ansu Fati is another option for Valverde.
Slavia Praha are entering this game after two consecutive losses in the group against Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona. The Czech team is the underdog in this group, but so far they are showing some decent football. Their best achievement so far is arguably the point they won during their visit to Inter Milan at the San Siro.
Despite of their loss against Levante on Saturday, we expect in our Champions League predictions today to see Barcelona doing their job against Slavia Praha. After such a dissapointing performance in Valencia, Los Cules need to win back their fans and do well.
