Crystal Palace hosts Sheffield United
Crystal Palace hosts Sheffield United at the Selhurst Park in London in a match from the 25th round of the Premier League. Just as always, we are going to have a look at this clash during our English Premier League predictions.
For Crystal Palace it’s an okay season so far – nothing too special, but nothing too terrible, too. At this moment Roy Hodgson’s team is 11th in the league 30 points, but the club still have some chances to enter the Top 10 again. What’s worrying for Palace is that they are without a win in their last five games in the league – they have four draws and one loss.
Last week Crystal Palace suffered their 8th defeat for the season when they hosted Southampton at the Selhurst Park. The game didn’t go very well for them because they lost it with 0-2. Roy Hodgson made some changes after the break, but the inclusion of Meyer, Ward and Wickham didn’t change anything.
Sheffield United can’t be unsatisfied with their season. The Blades are 8th in the league with 33 points, having a record of 8 wins, 9 draws and 7 losses. We all expected that Sheffield United will be fighting for their survival this season, but now the reality is much different.
In the previous round Sheffield United suffered a loss, though. Chris Wilder’s team hosted the champion Manchester City and just one goal, scored by Sergio Aguero, separated the two teams.
The manager Chris Wilder has the luck to have a full squad on his disposal. There are no important players who are currently unavaliable for selection. That’s good news.
In our English Premier League predictions we think that Sheffield United have the edge over Crystal Palace, but the home advantage here is in Palace’s favour. They will try to take something from this match at their own Selhurst Park.
