Granada hosts Sevilla

Granada hosts Sevilla in a game from the second round of the Spanish La Liga. Let’s take a look at this fixture in our regular La Liga predictions for today.

The newcomers Granada kicked off their season with a draw, winning a point after a very dramatic visit to Villarreal. The match at the Estadio de la Ceramica ended with a thrilling 4-4, being the most exciting game from the opening round. This clash could have been won by both teams, but at the end they shared the points.

Fede Vico scored a penalty kick for Granada, while Villarreal’s Ruben Pena scored himself an own goal. Roberto Soldado scored his first goal for the visitors, while Antonio Puertas also scored for Granada. But sadly these four goals were not enough for Diego Martinez’ team to clinch the win.

Still, it was a pretty good beginning for Granada to score four goals away from home in their opening game in La Liga.

Sevilla recorded a win in their first La Liga game with Julen Lopetegui as a manager. In the first round Los Rojiblancos travelled to Barcelona to face Espanyol and enjoyed a 2-0 win. The new signing from Real Madrid Reguilon opened the score, while Nolito doubled the visitors’ lead at the end of the game. It was a dream start for Lopetegui at his new club.

Julen Lopetegui is arguably a very good manager, but he didn’t have luck during his brief sting at Real Madrid last season. He was sacked very soon at the Bernabeu, but now he has a chance to prove that he’s a capable head coach.

These are our La Liga predictions for today for the clash between Granada and Sevilla on Friday. For the Andalusians this is a second consecutive away goal, but they already won the first one. As for Granada, they scored four goals in their first game which is impressive.
