Inter Milan – Getafe

Inter Milan will try to make a first step towards the 1/4-finals when they host Getafe in a first leg from Europa League’s 1/8-finals. Let’s check it out in our Europa League predictions.

Nobody could argue that Inter Milan are one of the biggest favourites to win Europa League this season. The Nerazzurri are incredibly better under the management of their new manager Antonio Conte. If the Serie A gets stopped because of the coronavirus, winning Europa League could be Inter’s priority in the remaining few months. And yes – they are good enough to win it.

The Italian giants are playing for their first European trophy since 2010 when they won the Champions League with Jose Mourinho. Antonio Conte is also trying to win his first European trophy, too.

In the previous round the Nerazzurri made a strong effort and beat twice Bulgarian champions Ludogorets. Now they will have a bigger challenge, of course, because they are facing a La Liga team.

Getafe were underdogs against Ajax in the 1/8-finals, but the Spanish side managed to eliminate the Dutch giants. They continue to be very disciplined and well organized team under the management of Jose Bordalas. It’s not a coincedence that for a second consecutive season they are fighting for a Champions League qualification in La Liga.

On Saturday Getafe made a dissapointing draw against Celta Vigo in La Liga, but now they are ready to make a better impression at the San Siro. Because of the coronavirus this game in Milan will be played without any fans on the stands. On theory this is a disadvantage for the hosts, but let’s see if this is going to affect them really.
