Krasnodar hosts Olympiakos

Krasnodar hosts Olympiakos in a second leg from the Champions League playoffs. This game is going to be played at the Stadion FK Krasnodar on Russian soil. Let’s see what’s going on here in our Champions League predictions.

Whatever is happening is not very great for Krasnodar. The Russian side lost the first leg in Piraeus with 0-4, which puts them in a pretty much hopeless situation. In order to neutralize this passive and progress towards the Champions League group stage, Krasnodar will need a miracle.

That first game in Greece turned out to be a real nightmare for Krasnodar, while Olympiakos played just amazingly good. Miguel Angel Guerrero put the Greeks ahead in the first half, while after the break Olympiakos scored three more times. Lazar Randelovic scored twice in Matvei Safonov’s net, while Daniel Podence finished the Russian with a fourth goal.

After their win against Krasnodar, Olympiakos celebrated another win in the Greek Super League 1. Pedro Martins’ boys faced Asteras at home and celebrated a 1-0 win. The only goal was scored after just seven minutes of playing when Youssef El-Arabi executed a penalty kick for the hosts. Because of the second leg against Krasnodar, Pedro Martins gave a rest to some of his players.

Meanwhile Krasnodar made a draw just few days after the humilating defeat in Piraeus. Murad Musaev’s team hosted Lokomotiv Moscow, but the match ended without a winner – 1-1. Grzegorz Krychowiak opened the score for Lokomotiv, but Magomed Suleymanov equalised for Krasnodar just few minutes before the end of the first half.

In our Champions League predictions we can make the conclusion that for Krasnodar it’s going to be almost impossible to erase what’s happened in Greece a week ago. Most likely Olympiakos will reach the group stage of the competition, but let’s see with what kind of a result.
