Liverpool – Manchester City

It’s time for the Premier League’s biggest showdown once again, because on Sunday the two strongest teams in the country are facing each other at the Anfield Road. The current leader Liverpool welcomes the champion and main title rival Manchester City. Here are our English Premier League predictions for this clash.

The situation is pretty clear at the moment – Liverpool have 6 points advantage in front ot Manchester City and they will try to increase it. In same time the champions are aware that if the gap increases to 9 points, that’s going to be a huge problem. It’s just the beginning of November, but such a gap would give Liverpool an enormous psychological advantage. City and Guardiola are perfectly aware with this.

During the week Liverpool won against Genk in the Champions League and the manager Jurgen Klopp made some strategic decisions. He left important figures like Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Andrew Robertson on the bench, which is going to allow them play against Manchester City with fresher legs. Klopp’s problems are related to the injuries of Joel Matip and Xherdan Shaqiri, who are unavaliable.

Manchester City’s manager Josep Guardiola has a lot of problems to solve before this game. The club’s captain David Silva, Rodri, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko are all injured, while the titular goalkeeper Ederson also injured himself against Atalanta in the Champions League during the week. This means that the backup goalie Claudio Bravo is going to start on Sunday, which could be a problem because of his lack of match practice.
