RB Leipzig are hosting Tottenham Hotspur
RB Leipzig are hosting Tottenham Hotspur at the Red Bull Arena in a second leg from the Champions League 1/8-finals. The German side has advantage before the second leg after their 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena two weeks ago. Timo Werner’s goal in London could be really important here. Our Champions League predictions are about to follow for this fixture.
“We are a gun without bullets” – that’s what Tottenham’s manager Jose Mourinho said in the interview after the 0-1 defeat against RB Leipzig. He probably talked about the injuries of Spurs’ two best forwards – Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, which put Tottenham in a serious crisis in attack. The Londoners are without a win in their last five fixtures in all competitions. On Saturday they traveled to face Burnley at the Turf Moor, but the game ended without a winner – 1-1.
Mourinho continues to look for ways to deal with this crisis in the team’s attack. Against Burnley he put Dele Alli as a center forward, while Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn were supporting him as second strikers. Meanwhile Lucas Moura started from the bench which makes us think that the Brazilian was rested for the second leg in Leipzig on Tuesday.
RB Leipzig will try to use this advantage they achieved in the first game. So far Julian Nagelsmann’s first season at the Red Bull Arena is going great – his team is really close to the Champions League 1/4-finals and Leipzig are third in the Bundesliga, just two points behind the leader Bayern Munich. On Saturday the Red Bulls made their 8th draw in the Bundesliga for the season after a 0-0 against Wolfsburg.
In these Champions League predictions we believe that despite of RB Leipzig’s win in London two weeks ago, this tie between them and Tottenham Hotspur is far from being over. Spurs still have the weapons to hurt their opponent and Mourinho is a masterful tactician, let’s not forget about this.
