Real Madrid hosts Eibar

Playing behind closed doors because of the coronavirus, Real Madrid hosts Eibar at the Santiago Bernabeu on Friday in a first match from the 28th round of Spanish La Liga. In our La Liga predictions we will discuss it with you, let’s start.

For Real Madrid the mood was quickly changed from great to hollow. Los Blancos beat Barcelona in the El Classico, but just one week later they lost against Real Betis and once again allowed Barca to take the first place. With two losses in their last three games, Real Madrid are not doing themselves any favour in the title race with the Catalans.

Because of Madrid’s bad performance against Real Betis last week it won’t be surprising if the manager Zinedine Zidane makes some adjustments in his line-up. Gareth Bale, Rodrygo and James Rodriguez are interesting options for Zidane from the bench, while Mariano Diaz is also waiting for his chance to shine again.

Eibar could use some points here, that’s pretty obvious. Mendilibar’s team is 16th in the league and too close to the 18th Mallorca and the relegation zone – just two points. With four losses in their last five games, Eibar must aim to improve the way they perform. Otherwise they would have some serious problems regarding their future in La Liga.

For this viist to the Bernabeu Eibar can’t use the veteran defender Ivan Ramis, who is sidelined with an injury. He’s missing this match in the capital.

In the same time Zinedine Zidane is still without Eden Hazard, who continues to struggle in his debut season with the white shirt.
